Never Judge A Book By It’s Cover
As I walked through the gigantic iron gates of the school, the trees rustled and applauded to welcome me to my new school. Beyond the gates and the sizeable playground, lay the school building. It looked modern and beckoned me to head to my classroom but, I didn’t know where everything was so Brendon(who was the buddy assigned to me)guided me wherever I needed to go. Like I was a member of his pack of wolves, he’d help and assist me all the time.
At playtime, he introduced me to everyone but, I was interested in one boy in particular called Jack. He was a lone wolf and quite a muscular and scary looking boy with tattoos, a nose piercing and blue hair. To most he was a brutal and cruel person, but to me, he was a nice, kind boy with a good heart that shone through any of his angst and poor qualities. Thump! Thump! He was banging against the bench, infuriated and after that he sat down and put his head in his hands exhibiting a heart-wrenching feeling of dread and pain. He had no friends.
Brendon-who was going to the toilet-told me not to talk to him under any circumstances. Even though Brendon told me not to talk to him, I sprinted towards Jack till I caught up to him and I took a deep breath and spoke in as kind a voice I could utter and calmly spoke,” Jack, I don’t think you’re as bad as people think.”
Jack said solemnly,” Well I don’t suppose you would like to become friends with me. You would just get embarrassed alongside me.”
”Actually, that’s why I wanted to talk to you,” I spoke with a massive smile on my face. As soon as I said that, he was down on his knees begging for me to become friends and I didn’t hesitate to agree. Once we were outside, rays of sunshine came beaming down upon us and I had never been so happy before.
Then Brendon came back outside. He furiously vociferated,” I told you not to talk to him.”
My voice boomed like thunder,” He is nice and you should be kind towards him!”
”You should never judge a book by its cover,” I growled. I turned and gestured to Jack for us two to leave. Once I had walked off, Brendon scowled but I didn’t care. I had a better friend now and I would never make the mistake of becoming friends with my new fiend.
Today I had learnt a valuable lesson, never judge a book by it’s cover.
